Deja vu all over again:
"Once you get on the road, don't plan on getting off."
It sounds like the evacuation is fairly well organized in the Freeport area.
Here are some pre-landfall links: Houston's KTRH offers streaming audio. The server at the Galveston News is already overloaded.
As far as local bloggers go, Jim at Smoke On The Water lives on a boat in Galveston. Then there's the Houston-Gavelston Area Emergency Blogger Network. The Brazosport News is posting.
Lawrence Simon is blogging. Maybe he'll end up being the Interdictor of Houston. He suggests that you shouldn't get your Houston news from the New York Times and supplies a bunch of good local links, both blogs and media outlets.
The New Orleans webcams didn't hold up too well, but here are a bunch from Galveston. More here. And there's a fire department listing of cams.
As far as Houston goes... one list... another.
But, we still have a couple of days until landfall.
