Sony announced that it will cut 10,000 jobs. It's an amazing turn of events as the company that dominated consumer electronics through the eighties and nineties has now officially passed its prime. I wonder how much of the downfall is the result of insistence on proprietary memory and over-enforcement of digital rights.

The first step towards a comeback? My suggestion: give all of the executives an iPod.
