Joan Vennochi correctly notes that the Republican euphemism for taxes is 'fees' while Democrats now prefer the phrase 'new income source'.

While some tax plans are better than others, she argues that we should just call a tax a tax and concentrate on the economic merit of the plan. Agreed, but let's not be naive. Politics is as much about marketing as it is about substance. I think even Orwell would forgive Patrick on this one.
