In China, a communist party theorist is being offered as the hero of an ongoing national propaganda campaign. Party leaders are hoping to stem the tide of political indifference as the populace focuses on modernization and the economy.

But, interesting enough, the campaign is also aimed at diminishing the influence of communist hard-liners.
