Ty Burr doesn't think we should remain silent when faced with fuzzy, dim images in movie theaters.

...The state of the art of non-union projection in this city and country is at a pitiful low, but it'll never change unless the audience - that's you - demands it to. How can you do that, though, when any sense of a benchmark "good image" has been lost? (And, no, your flat-screen at home doesn't count.) Make a stink anyway; why else are you paying $4.50 for that bottle of water?

There are some new developments in digital projection that rival film but I haven't seen enough of them to make any judgements. Sounds like a local online rating site for movie quality may be called for.
