Chemical cocktail:

Is it a drink if it isn't drunk? Here's what the molecular bartender is mixing up in the lab these days.

...For the martini, they blend olive juice, vermouth and gin with xanthan gum and calcium chloride and drop it into a sodium alginate and water solution to form stable olive-shaped blobs. It is served as a lone olive in an empty glass; it reverts to a liquid state when popped into the mouth.

I'm not so sure about that, but the wine glass coated with the taste of vanilla using a Class 4 laser, filled with red wine and served with a beef dish is right up my ally.

And if you really like those martini orbs and you pop a few too many into your mouth, maybe soon you'll be able to take a sober-up pill.
