I don't get the Google Spreadsheet thing. I understand Writely and the web app idea, but spreadsheet people tend to be much less casual about what they do with their data than people using wordprocessors. Who's going to use this? And how is it going to make money for Google?

Maybe this is just an example of Google flexing it's brainpower or a symbolic swipe at Microsoft. But maybe there's something else here. Om Malik can't figure this out either. He's running a poll and the results speak to the perception of Google as having some sort of all-knowing master plan. I'm not so sure (although I did vote for #4.) The comments are interesting too.
