Bad budget:
State legislators are bumping this year's budget up by between 7.5 to 8.5 percent, an amount that many believe existing tax revenues won't sustain. So where's the money coming from? Apparently it's time to tap into the rainy day fund. It has been a very rainy year, after-all. Scott Lehigh:
With the economy recovering, albeit slowly, and with revenues as strong as they have been in several years, the state shouldn't be financing spending by using reserves.
I guess they just couldn't resist. There are so many ways to spend money.
